February in Review - 2010

Ah Miss Graycie thinks she's funny!!! We know she's hilarious!!

Graycie 18 Months

We have a vent in the kitchen that allows the warm air from our pellet stove to rise into the kitchen. Graycie LOVES playing with it. She'll throw things down there all the time. The big kids like it because when we have a party here, they like to pour water through the whole to the unsuspecting victim below. Whenever I'm down stairs folding clothes, she'll peek down and smile at me. She loves being able to look through there to see what's going on below.

Kaylie has a turtle named Turtley. The cage is pretty big and she's been really into rearranging her bedroom and wasn't finding just the right place for her turtle cage. Rayce just moved into an apartment in Idaho Falls and had to give away his two dogs. Kaylie felt bad for him so she decided to give Turtley to Rayce so he wouldn't have to go without a pet! Ah and Dad captured in pictures. The first pic is her surprising him, then he gives her a hug. Finally, he calls his mom to tell her the exciting news!

Every spring we get a huge pool of water in our driveway. We have named it Lake Palmer or the Palmer Pond! (No fish though). So we have our pump and Brady sucks the water out several times a week. Graycie LOVES being outside so whenever Brady is working outside she goes out to play. Well, Graycie spots the inflatable tube in the garage and drags it out by the pond. I know we have a HUGE challenge ahead of us this summer keeping her away from the canals. I'm not afraid to put up a chick wire fence and looking like HUGE rednecks to keep lil Graycie safe.

Michelle told me that people don't take camera's into restaurants and guess what...I proved her wrong. Here's Graycie and Brady at Red Robin and the main reason I posted this picture is to show off Graycie's hair. I stink at doing hair so when it turns out cute I've gotta post it.

Wanna guess where most of her food ends up?? Let's just say, WE TIP WELL!!

We do ANYTHING to entertain her so she behaves while we're out to eat. Including letting her play with tooth picks!!!

Finally found something other than french fries that Graycie would eat.

So who do you think Graycie looks like?? I guess I could have married someone with brown hair and brown eyes so it wouldn't have been so obvious!! But we love love love our DADDY!

Ugh, and we're at the stage where Kaylie doesn't want to order off the kids meal anymore. But I have to admit that when I was her age I was way over shopping at the "Kitty Shop" (its real name) but my mom kept making me go in there to try on clothes! I had to explain to Kaylie that the prices were $5 different between the kids meal and the adult meal. She still wasn't happy. So finally we came to a deal. She got to order a kids smoothy if she ordered off the kids meal. Not very smart on my part because we ended up spending the same amount of money as if she would have just ordered off the regular menu. Bottom line? Kaylie left there very happy and very satisfied.

Graycie's best attempt at a forced smile. We're at Eric's and Patti's house during Melissa's baby shower.

Our little Graycie is a bit uneasy with a house full of people. Many of which she didn't know.

Another cute hair shot.

My sweet nieces, Rebecca and Melissa. This is about a month before Melissa is due. The ultra sound says we're gonna have a new baby girl in the family. Melissa won't tell anyone the names she's picked out so we should all right down our guesses and put them in a jar to open when we find out. See if any of us are close.

Still best Buds. Kaylie with Aunt Michelle at Melissa's baby shower.
Graycie is getting oh so tired of the hair shots. This expression says, "Ok Mom, enough all ready!"

HaHaHa!!! Graycie trying on Kaylie's bra!! Almost fits heehee. What a cutie.
Woot Woot!!
She loved it!!
And I'm not sure what caption to put on this lil pic.
Normally Graycie loves the snow but this picture is saying "Enough, Uncle, Done, I'm Cold, and I WANT MY BOTTLE!!"
Just checking out this cold, white stuff.
Not especially her favorite but Dad loves it!!
Kaylie is teaching Graycie to eat snow which reminds me, I've gotta go teach Graycie her colors, especially YELLOW!!
THE END!!

Graycie talking!!

Graycie's FAVORITE thing is to read books. Every night instead of getting out all her toys, she goes for the books. One by one she'll bring them to us to read. She will repeat everything you say. Sometimes not very clearly and other's, clear as a bell. Love this stage of life!!!

Yay, family day skiing!! The school had ski night last night and because Scott & Ryan came up to go ice fishing, they got to go skiing with Eric, Brady, Preston & Kaylie!! I wish I could have been there cuz I would have gotten tons more pics!! =( So I'm sure all the anxious skiers would have been annoyed! So here a the few pictures Brady was able to capture before they tackled the hill!! The coolest thing about the "Horman" junior skiers is just that. They are ALL SKIERS, not boarders so they can all keep up with one another. Not that they stayed together but its cool that they all ski!

Here's the crew!! Preston, Ryan & Kaylie. Brady, Eric & Scott!! Woot Woot, what a goodlooking crew!! Just missing Steve & Brett!! Maybe next year!!

While they were there, Brady, Scott & Eric stopped to talk 1/2 way down on the face. Suddenly a boy leaned forward and fell off the chair lift, landing on his face. He must have been scared because Brady says he was thrashing around as he slid down the hill. Brady, having worked at Snow Bird as an instructor years ago, took off towards the injured child as he continued to slid downward. The get him stopped Brady had to ski just below him getting his legs wrapped around his, then Brady dug his ski in to get them both stopped. His face as all bloody and he was scared to death. He pleading for nothing to be broke. He didn't want to go to the hospital. He began complaining that his wrist was hurting, so Brady had him elevate his arm by resting it on Brady's leg. Two ski patrollers passed on the lift overhead and asked if he was ok and Brady said, "No, he just fell off the chair lift." They radioed for help and help came running up from the bottom. Eric gathered up the poor little guy's equipment as the ski patrol got the boy on the toboggan. Brady, Scott & Eric follow them down to fill out an accident report. Brady says that when they took his glove his wrist was so swollen and most likely broken. =( Brady has such a compassion for children and I'm so proud of him for taking control of the situation and being there for that child, making him as comfortable as possible.

Blast-Off 2010

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Our little 5th grader, Kaylie is an unbelievable lil swimmer. Her coach is putting her up against 8th graders and she's keeping right up with them. Her fastest event is the freestyle. She just glides over the water. It's amazing. She often competes in the 100 meter im which is one pool length doing the butterfly, swimming back doing the back stroke, across the pool again doing the breast stroke, then back doing freestyle. When she competed in the 100 meter freestyle she competed against 6th through 8th graders and took 2nd place, being the youngest & smallest swimmer from either team.
Panther Swim Team 2009-2010
Sarah, Kaylie, Hannah & Taylor: Their first meet was Saturday, January 9, 2010. Kaylie is one of the youngest competitors on the Panther team and she's kickin' butt 'n taking names.
