Out of the mouth of babes...When Kaylie was younger there were a lot of cute things she did and said that I would write down and scrapbook to preserve the memories. Since I haven't had time to scrap, I need to blog the cute things that Graycie comes up with. It's so often that we forget.
Brady loves astronomy. He has had his telescope out on several occations and lets Graycie and the other kids look at the moon and planets. We often have Graycie draw different shapes on paper or we'll draw them and ask her what it is. After drawing a circle I asked her what shape it was and she replied, "It's a planet!" Ever since that time our shape drawing has included circles and planets.
While Brady was in Montana last week Graycie came to me with pencil and paper in hand. She asked me to draw a planet. Being the most recognisable of all planets, I drew a circle and a ring going around it. She looks at it with furrowed eye brows and said, "NO, Jupiler!" Apparently she's a big fan of Jupiter! I was thinking maybe Brady taught her about the planets, but Kaylie thinks she learned in from one of her favorite Nick Jr. shows, Bubble Guppies.
Finally, we live in a split-entry home with an entryway near the front door. The room is big enough to hold a nice floor lamp and a large coat rack with a nice bench and mirror attached. Graycie likes to throw her bouncy balls down the stairs and watch them bouncy into the entryway. She was content and somewhat quiet for a minute then I hear her holler, "Mom,I is doing it!" Not having a clue what she was doing I ran down the stairs and again she said, "Mom, I is doing it!" I replied, "Doing what?" She turned and ran to the mirror and began sticking out her tongue and slightly curling it. She's seen me and Kaylie doing that and she was so proud that she could do it too, (well sort of curling it) but we celebrated all the same!! I've looked up childrens' stages of development, but I can't find tongue curling anywhere, so I'm assuming she's very advanced and off the charts! Oh how we love this baby girl!
